Hey quick update… I missed last week because I was traveling.

I was hosting an in-person meetup of 47 of the best indie hackers from across India.. the Roach Mafia meetup.

Do check out my reflections on X and LinkedIn. It was amazing 🤩

Now, today’s topic - Postiz

Postiz is a social media scheduler — connect your accounts, schedule posts everywhere from one calendar.

Like Buffer, except the whole product is open source and free to self-host.

It just hit $145K MRR. Growing $1K per day. Built by one person.

Before we dive in, quick word from Readdy AI -

Your Business Website. Built in Under 2 Minutes

Running a business is hard. Building a website shouldn't be.

With Readdy.ai, just describe your business, the AI handles your website design, performance, SEO optimization, and more.

No coding or design skills needed. Launch in 2 minutes.

The Backstory - Postiz

Nevo David spent seven years as an engineer at Israeli startups.

Then he took a growth job at an open-source startup called Novu and drove its GitHub repo to 30,000 stars in two years.

That job taught him the lesson everything since is built on: open source isn't a business model. It's a distribution engine.

His first solo product, Gitroom, made money but the market was tiny. He killed it in six months.

Postiz was born

January 2024: he started building a social media scheduler. First growth channel — SEO. He spent $12K on content and got almost nothing back.

He killed that too.

September 2024: he open-sourced the whole product. 3K to 14K GitHub stars in three months. Revenue went from $700/month to $17K MRR — one person, zero ad budget.

Then came the wave.

The Wave

In early 2026, OpenClaw — the open-source AI agent — became the fastest-growing repo in history. Everyone watched. Nevo shipped.

An agent CLI. An MCP server. A skill on ClawHub. Programmatic landing pages for every agent use case. Postiz became the default answer to "how does my AI agent post to social media?"

Then a viral OpenClaw article name-dropped Postiz, and the funnel exploded.

March 2026: $21K MRR.

June: $118K.

July 2: $145K MRR — with $2M ARR days away.

From a failed SEO experiment to ~$2M ARR in 30 months. Still a team of one.

The Ride-the-Wave Playbook:

  1. Treat your GitHub repo as your marketing engine — free self-hosters become paying cloud customers

  2. Launch repeatedly, not once — time launch weeks across HN, Reddit and Dev.to to spike GitHub trending

  3. Kill channels fast when the data says no — $12K into SEO, zero hesitation shutting it down

  4. When a platform wave hits, reposition the product — don't just tweet about it

  5. Build for the new customer nobody's serving yet — AI agents need tools too

That’s it for today.

See you next week.

Best
