This is about Parakeet Chat.
Parakeet Chat is an AI app for incarcerated people in US federal prison.
There's no website to log into. No app to download. The product is just an email address inmates send messages to… the bot pipes them to ChatGPT and emails the answer back.
Solo founder. Bootstrapped. $1.5M lifetime revenue.

The Backstory - Parakeet Chat
Jordan Rejaud spent 10 years building software. Carnegie Mellon robotics. Moon rovers at a Fortune 100. Self-driving cars in San Francisco.
Then he freelanced.
One client he was building a mobile app for didn't show up to a Zoom call.
The client's girlfriend joined instead. He'd been sent to prison.
Jordan kept in touch by paper letter for years.
The letters revealed the same thing over and over: services inside federal prisons are a scam. High prices. Bad software. Nobody building anything better.
So he built something better.
One month: MVP shipped through the prison's internal email system.
Month two: 200 paying users. Payment system live. Profitable.
Today: ~30,000 users. That's 20% of the entire US federal prison population.
9 million messages sent.
~100,000 family connections that wouldn't otherwise exist.
$300K in 2025. $1.5M lifetime. ~$25K MRR. Currently listed for $1.2M on TrustMRR.
A solo founder. A market 95% of builders never see.

The Invisible Market Playbook:
Pick a customer most founders dismiss as "not an industry"
Skip the UI — use the channel your users already have approved
Split the user from the buyer when the user can't pay (inmates use it; families pay $15–$20/month)
Engineer two-sided word-of-mouth — referrals inside the walls AND outside
Validate by building, not by collecting emails — closed ecosystems make MVP and validation the same step
